How salon service descriptions win bookings

By Nev19 May 2026

Look, this is where a lot of salons lose the booking before the client has even met them. You write Wash, Cut and Blow-Dry – £80. The salon next door writes the same £80, but actually says what the client is getting. Deep-cleansing wash. Scalp massage. Conditioner treatment. Precision haircut. Heat protection. Shine serum. Same price. Different value in the client’s head.

And before anyone says it — yes, obviously you do all that as well. That’s exactly the problem. You do it, but you don’t say it. So the client assumes your service is basic and the other one is better, even when it isn’t.

This was in my book for a reason. The same service can feel completely different just from the way it’s described. Not because you are lying. Simply put, you are finally saying what the client is actually paying for.

Honestly, if your menu sounds flat, your service starts looking cheap even at £80. Then people tell themselves clients only care about price. They don’t. They care about what they think they’re buying. If your competitor paints the picture better than you, they get the booking.

The fix isn’t in dropping the price. It’s in making the value visible before the client books.

How many bookings do you think salons lose just because their service menu says too little?

There's a full breakdown of this in the Academy if you want the rest.
