Every day in the groups someone asks how to get more clients. A lot of people go straight to ads. Honestly, when I needed clients, the thing that worked first was much simpler.
I walked about twenty minutes around the salon and wrote down every place that already had people — gyms, cafés, restaurants, banks, offices. Then I went to the owner or manager one by one. If their place was about the same size as mine, I offered a straight swap: my cards on their counter, their cards in my salon. If they were much bigger, I added a voucher for the manager or their family. The service cost me little. For them it felt valuable. And I never printed cheap flyers — good businesses will not put rubbish next to their till.
When bigger places ask for a staff deal, do not cut your main price. Offer extras that cost you almost nothing. Half-price blow-dry with the haircut. Free nail polish with a manicure. A free mask with colour. You give time and a small add-on. You do not destroy your price list.
And new clients mean nothing if they do not come back. After the visit, thank them, ask for the next booking, follow up the next day. Make it easy to book when you are closed. Ask for a Google review when they are happy. Keeping one client costs less than chasing a new one.
Have you tried partnering with businesses near you, or do you still rely mainly on ads?
